UPDATE: The new pricing is rolling out at: http://cshtml5.com/download.aspx

Dear CSHTML5 users,

With the upcoming version 2.x, we are bringing CSHTML5 to the next level by incorporating the game-changing Bridge.NET technology. You can read about the benefits of this technology on the Roadmap page.

We are taking this opportunity to also improve the pricing model of CSHTML5, to address multiple flaws that have been reported to us over the last few years.

One of the main flaws of the previous pricing model was that it had a "one-size-fits-all" approach, which resulted in the price of the full-featured product being too high for hobbyists, and too low for large corporations expecting enterprise-grade support and assistance.

Over the next few weeks, we plan to make the following change:
- the FULL product will be TOTALLY FREE for hobbyists and for the community
- freelancers and organizations will be able to buy an affordable Commercial License. Similarly to how the Unity software is priced, the price of the Commercial License will depend on the size of the company, so that it fits every budget, and it will include support, assistance, the full source code licensed for royalty-free commercial use, and more.

In the coming weeks we are also planning to OPEN SOURCE the code of CSHTML5 under the GPL v3 license. Please note that this open-source version is not suitable for use by freelancers and organizations - due to the incompatibility of the GPL v3 license with proprietary code - unless of course you own a Commercial License.

Please refer to the table below for all the details.

NOTE: If you own a "Professional Edition" license (previous pricing model), the new pricing will NOT affect your own personal licenses/renewals, and you will have the choice to either keep your current plan (ie. keep the old pricing, including for renewals) or transition to one of the new plans below.

We are also improving the pricing of the Migration Edition (for people migrating from WPF and Silverlight) to fix the flawed "one-size-fits-all" approach. The price will now depend on the number of lines of code of the application being migrated, and the product will come with the full source code (royalty-free commercial use allowed), as well as 3 years of free updates and support.

NOTE: If you already own a "Migration Edition" license (previous pricing model), the new pricing will NOT affect your own licenses/renewals.

Please feel free to let us know your feedback on the new pricing before it becomes effective.

Thank you very much.
Kind regards,
The CSHTML5 Team

Does the free edition covers the DataGrid control and the client-server communication?

Yes, the Community Edition will cover all the features, including the DataGrid control and the client-server communication. However its use by freelancers and businesses will be forbidden.

Cool.

The Bridge.Net experiment loads faster than the current. Can't wait for the next update ♥️
