Finding a new name for CSHTML5

Dear CSHTML5 users,

We have recently received much feedback suggesting that we change the name of the CSHTML5 product.

What do you think about that?

We are open to any suggestions.

If you think that we should change the name, please do not hesitate to post your thoughts about the general principles that the new name should follow (such as "it should sound like..." or "it should remind of...") or even suggest new names directly.

If one of the names that you have suggested is chosen, we will obviously give you credit somewhere in the program or in the program website/documentation.

Thank you very much!

Regards,
The CSHTML5 Team

I would like one with Web in the name - then it will handle both html5 / webassenbley and future intentions

something like

CSWeb
CS+Web
WebC#
C#Web
WebCS
Web+CS
Though it would probably upset MS - I quite like "Web.Net"

So when is this PoC version 2 you mentioned due?

I'm getting shaking fingers - I need my beta fix - its been almost a month

you get us used to weekly or bi - weekly fixes and then withdraw our supply!! so cruel.

Hi,

Thanks a lot for all those great names suggestions!

What do you think about the name "Reborn" (framework)?

Like in "Introducing Reborn (framework) - After the dark ages of JS, .NET is back." or "Silverlight is Reborn".

Thanks,
Regards,
JS-Support

Not sure I like it by itself but would prefer Renaissance as with mediaeval art it conjures a move from dark to light as well as rebirth.

Not sure its snappy enough by itself and with anything else it becomes a sentence.

Did you say what was wrong with cshtml5 except I assume you want to add Web Assembly.

XamlWeb or even XWeb or WebX

Thanks for the feedback.

Renaissance would have been great but unfortunately it is already in use (Renaissance Framework).

Yes, the new version of CSHTML5 may add WebAssembly.

Other people, what do you think about Reborn?

Such as in:
"Reborn: Silverlight rises from the ashes"
"Reborn: C# and XAML in your web browser"

Have other suggestions?

Thanks!

What do you guys think about "Reboost"? (It's intended to highlight the productivity boost that .NET brings to client side web development)

Not sure I like it as a single word.

If you want something like risen/reborn/reboost

I quite like Phoenix or "Phoenix JS" (rising from JS into WebAssmbly perhaps)

Thanks for the feedback!

Very nice! Unfortunately it looks like Phoenix is already taken: https://phoenixframework.org/

To be honest why change it?
If I type cshtml5 into the web browser I get loads of references to you where I USED to get references to CSS, HTML5 and cssschools.
I think google analytics may force you to keep it.

GoldenLight (better than silver)
Resurgence / Resurge

UserNet (to go with Userware)

Net-Rekindled
RekindledNet

NetReleveraged NetReLev NetLev

I give up :-)
