Suitable for game development?

Postby LittleTimmy » Thu Jan 14, 2016 12:25 am

Hi,

I have an idea for a mobile game and I'm currently trying to find a good platform to implement it in, the game will use both 3D and physics. Is this an option with C#/XAML for HTML at the moment? Either through the use of built in objects or 3rd party js libraries?

Thanks,

Hi LittleTimmy and welcome to the forums.

At the moment C#/XAML for HTML5 is more suited for apps (with buttons, textboxes, comboboxes, etc.) than games. In the future, when C#/XAML for HTML5 supports extensions, there will likely be a library for making 2D/3D games, likely via WebGL.

In the meantime I would recommend you to use JSIL (jsil.org), which is the C# to JS transpiler used by C#/XAML for HTML5, and which comes with direct support for games made with the C#+XNA language.

Regards,
JS-Support
